adding batterys

hi, im looking foward to adding a bettery to my boat for the purpose of the stereo equiptment. i know the basics of adding it but how do i go about charging this battery with the 1993 225 evinrude i have. do i connect this to the alternator oh what. i dont want to overload it.

Agreed re: ACR - I am having the Blue Seas ACR installed. It makes sure that you charge your start battery before your house battery, no matter what battery you have selected to run on......good insurance.

i am soaking up every bit of info but i think i forgot to mention what im adding is a third battery
i have one for the engine and then the other one but with the stereo system im running i would like to add another one ne help

Aha, a 3rd batt. This is how I do it. I feel it ensures all batts are being charged when running and are isolated when shut down...

and i can run it like this diagram if im only runnin single engine...


and just in time give me ur idea on how to run it...


single engine triple batterys is it possiable lol i mean i just see these malibu guys like 4 batterys with the stereos their pushing

Excuse me sir. You have a charging source in the port batt when the engine is running. Assuming the house batt is over 11V, the ACR will combine the batts when running. Why will it not charge "anything"? When running, starboard batt switch is on 1, port switch on 2.

the acr needs to go to the C post (common)
this way your not going through the battery switch
thats a good .1, .2 draw there
