Previous owner had Airlift 1000 bags put in (much lighter duty) and they broke so I went with the HD version. Trouble with those is they don't like to fold up like the light duty ones. Fought one side, with my 21 year old son for more muscle, for a few hours before we got that side done. I tried a heat gun, that didn't work.
For the other side, I stuffed the deflated bag in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, ran the hottest water in there, left it for a few minutes. That sucker went in in under 3 minutes, a couple minutes to zip tie it folded up and then it popped right in.
Why, on God's green earth, did Airlift not tell you to do that? The number of swear words that would not happen is immeasurable. Sigh. Leaving this here in case someone else goes down my miserable path. Oh, and I called Airlift and asked that they put the hot water trick in their install docs. They acted like they had never heard of this idea, I can't believe I'm the first guy to figure it out.
