Peter Jenkin's 'Along the Edge of America', 1995.

I read the book many years ago and something made me think of it recently, so I read it again and still enjoyed it.

Without saying too much, the non-boater author intends to pilot his brand new, 1990 Grady-White Sailfish the length of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. He is already an accomplished author by the time he undertakes this voyage, but feels like he has lost track of himself in the midst of a successful career.

Ha, could probably learn a lot from the lessons he learns the hard way! Reminds me of “A Walk in the Woods”, in which author Bill Bryson decides to try hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Jenkins also wrote "Walk Across China", and "Walk Across America", and others.

IIRC, titles are underlined, not quoted, but for some reason, my toolbar at the top of the reply box is greyed out, and does not respond. Anyone else have this?

Touché! I have gotten out of the habit of following such rules on forums and in texts. But yes, the underline button on my toolbar works fine!
