Anchor for 1999 Adventure 208

Once again I appeal to your infinite wisdom and generousity....where can I find the direct replacement anchor for my 1999 Adventure 208? I hung mine up in some rocks and bent it badly. As a result, it will not hold bottom. Thanks for your thoughts!

Any decent marine store will have a good selection of anchors. If you like the one you have, just match it up. You may even be able to Google/Amazon for it. Since we don't know what you have, though... :mrgreen:

You need to know the type and weight. The type depends on where you anchor ( what kind of bottom) As mentioned any marine supply store should have a replacement. The round hanging bars MAY need to be cut with a hacksaw since they may be a bit long to fit into the clip holders in the anchor locker.
 
All you need is an 8lb Hooker (Danforth style). More chain is better than less...

Maybe...maybe not....depends on where you are boating.....
 
We fish Long Island Sound in 10' to 50' of water. I have 300' of 1/2" braid with 5' of 1/4" chain. I thinking of going with 20' of chain. The danforth I bent is 18" wide, 22" tall and fits the clips perfectly. Most of the danforths I see online are 24" tall, 2" talker than the current anchor. The extra 2" of shank will make it more difficult to stow the anchor on top of the 300' of line.
I'm trying to find a danforth 22" tall by 18" wide with no luck. That's what came with the boat when I bought it used. Does GW ship with anchor or was this after market? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Do you have an ACTUAL "Danforth" brand, or is it simply a fluke-style anchor? If it's a true Danforth, check out their website and the various models. Anchors don't come from the factory with small boats.
