Now that we have the 86 offshore ready for fishing we started to get back into saltwater fishing. We currently go to the indian river inlet marina boat launch. Are there closer places? For me with no traffic it's a 4 hour drive one way

Your best bet may be Lewes. It's 20-30 minutes closer in normal traffic, but a lot closer in weekend traffic. You are right on Delaware Bay.

When I was a kid my Dad and I used to fish out of the Mispillion River in Delaware. The Slaughter Beach drumfish grounds are a couple miles away. Brandywine Shoal is around ten miles. that's north of Lewes DE. Taylor Marine a grady dealer is located in Milford on the Mispillion River they have a website that provides fish reports ive visited the dealership and they seem like good people. State ramps were there at Mispillion and when I was young they were brand new and very very nice concrete ramps. if your boat is registered in DE they are free to use. I fish the Delaware Bay now but on the Jersey side. Dad trailered the boat so we went out of Lewes and Indian River Inlet a bunch of times too. Indian River Inlet can be some nasty water be careful running out of there. but once your in the ocean The Old Grounds and Reef Site 11 are a nice ride if you like deep water flounder fishing. wth an Offshore 24 you can pick your weather days and head out for some tuna from Indian River

North of Mispillion you have Bowers Beach but I don't know much about there. Mispillion os north of Lewes
.

I've heard about bowers beach. We generally make a weekend out of it. We will come down late thursday night and get a slip at indian river marina then leave sunday night. traffic wasn't bad in spring but now that summer is here route 1 going south is a parking lot at times. We currently drift the inlet during the day and go back out later a night when the boat traffic dies down. Would love to go offshore but we have never been offshore by ourselves. Would love to go with a buddy boat or have someone on board with more expereince. Eventually we will get there
