Anyone add shorepower to 226/228 or such.. How did it go ??

Yup done two of them. both in the same place. You can see it on the right next to the speeker and on the left side if you look close is the outboard flush so I dont have too lean over the transom

I added 30 amp shorepower & AC/Heat on my 98 272 when I bought it in 2006. The dealer had the work done & so far no problems. You could probably do it cheaper than dealer but it was the most convenient for me.
Make sure you include a galvanic isolator in the mix.
I run everything off a Honda 2000 EU on Eco with no problems. Check out

How difficult was it to install the shore power? i was thinking about adding a battery charger to my 228.

This has to be one of the simple no brainer projects. The hardest decision is where to place it.

I have been putting then in the stern on the 228 just to keep it clean and easy. Yes you can do this yourself. Pick your charger and lets get you started..... If you decide to tackle it I will walk you through via email or phone...
 
I installed a Dual Pro SE batt. charger on my Gulfstream. It runs everything on the boat, I don't have AC/heat, and keeps my batteries charged. I can run the livewell all night and have fresh batteries in the morning. I fabricated a pigtail adapter so I can plug a standard extention cord into it and then into a 30 amp. shore power recepticle. It works great.

Just find a convenient location for the charger near the batteries and mount it with the supplied hardware. Connect the leads to the batteries and plug an extension cord into the short male cord on the charger and you're in business.
