Anyone ever add freshwater cockpit shower to their boat?

My 1999 208 Adventure came fully loaded, with all the bells and whistles, including the freshwater cockpit shower. Very nice to be able to rinse the salt off after swimming or if you need to wash your hands or whatever.

My new to me 1987 228G Seafarer does not have many options. I have added a livewell system and raw water washdown system, and am now considering adding a freshwater shower.

Have any of you done this? Any tips or suggestions?

It's pretty straight forward: tank--line--pump--line--sprayer. Run the electrical through a fuse and switch (look for an unused fuse/switch at the dash before installing a new one). Use marine, tinned wire and crimp connectors... ideally with adhesive shrink. The biggest concern could arise with where you want to put the tank. The lines, pump and sprayer are less of a worry. Depending on where you can put the tank (and the size you pick), will determine how hard this project becomes. But, it's still not "hard"... just more or less time consuming. If the place you put the tank results in the top of the tank being inaccessible for filling, then you'll also need a fill hose and deck plate (some tanks have a screw on cap for filling... if accessible). I would think something in the 8 to 10 gallon range would be more than sufficient.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it seems do-able.

I found an 8-gallon ATV garden sprayer setup with 12v pressure pump and everything on sale for $59. It should fit perfectly in the empty space behind the gas tank, which is where it was in my 208. Not sure if I'm going to tackle it now, or wait until later in the year, but at least I know my game plan now.
