So...I have replaced the main tank on 2 older Offshores in the past. Had aluminum tanks fabricated from the originals and installed myself. Not real difficult.
The 1982 Offshore that I am running now still has the original 55 gal aux tank in the front coffin near the entrance to the cabin. I plan on taking a few longer trips this year and want more fuel capacity than the 93 gal main.
I want to do it quickly and not break the bank......any reason I shouldn't install this 40 gal Moeller tank in there? It is designed for below deck use and I would build a cradle/frame for it. Maybe strap it in a bit and leave it room to expand.
Any thoughts or comments welcome.
Thanks all!
