Battery charger issues

I hauled out my marlin in December, and am starting to do some work on her. I have her plugged into shore power, but whenever I turn on the battery charger breaker switch, the ac panel switch flips off.
Was working fine a couple months ago.
Ideas???

You either have a short in the ac side wiring to the charger or the charger itself is fried.
I assume that other switches on the AC panel work. Is that so?
In any case, you will have to take a look at the charger wiring to see if there is obvious damage. You may also want to undo the AC panel and look for a short ( maybe, a bugs nest or corrosion) around the breaker wiring.

Do you have any problem with anything else in an AC receptacle on your boat? Microwave? Plug in a light or a drill...

What brand /model charger? Sealed unit?
find where the AC wire connects to the charger.
Is it a plug or screw terminals or butt connectors?

depending on your charger, you may be able to disconnect from boat AC, put a standard AC plug on the charger's AC wire and test it on your house AC ( like a gfci outlet in your garage using an extension cord)
If ok, test it in a receptacle on your boat

Maybe a weak breaker if you don't find something else if happening with a load applied and the inrush current trips it.

If there is a weak breaker it will show when you plug in or connect any AC device with a similar or greater current draw. A heat gun or hair drier will draw a lot more current than your charger would. I thing your charger probably draws about 300 watts or so.

just finished removing the old battery charger. It is a corroded mess!!
It is a Dytek model GP-1230-4b
Any ideas on the best replacement?

You need 2 banks min and prob 30A if you can get it.

I replace mine 2 years ago with this model. My setup is two batteries in parallel and one single.
