We installed a Powermania Turbo M440 battery charger 2 years ago. Since that time, have had no problems until last week. The power was going a little crazy but no breakers were tripped. Looked in the bilge at the charger and immediately shut down everything on the boat. The charger had 1 cord melted completely off and another just about to come off. The hull was slightly charred. Removed the whole assembly and started to google the supplier. No TN, No email No internet presence. Looked further and found several boats have burned to the water line due to this charger. People are selling these on eBAY but I would caution NOT to install.

Never heard of a PowerMania. Looks like a good one to stay away from!

When I first read your post I thought you were talking about ProMariner which is an excellent brand I use and recommend.

That's amazing timing - I just recently learned of this brand. I don't recall if it was on this forum or the Sea Ray forum - but someone commented that they had that charger. I had never, previously, heard of them. I thought the name sounded like Chinese junk, though turns out, they've been out of business for a few years
