After years of scrapped knuckles, elbows, etc. while trying to operate the A/C raw water valves, service the bilge pump, etc. through the pie plate in the aft bilge panel, I would like to replace the panel with an access hatch which is easily opened/closed. Tired of re-caulking the existing panel when I need to work in the bilge.

I have attempted a forum search on the subject with no specific results. Has any one found a manufactured drop in hatch which can be installed with little fiberglass cutting/modification?? If not, any ideas/modifications/solutions????

:hmm

Hello Silver, Replaced the 6" hatches on my 208 with 2 10" Armstrong circular deck plates. Totally leak proof as needed in the well. Yes there was some fibreglass cutting but not difficult. Filled splash well with water left overnight, no issues. Used a jig saw with a down cutting blade after taping layout of cut. Not sure this applies to your yacht but here it is. Cheers, trapper
