Bilge pump hose

It might be hard to create the proper upward loops without the hose kinking. You'd also need to make sure it's not putting undue stress on the pump nipple. But as far as whether or not it's OK for water transfer... sure. Personally, I'd just get bilge pump hose.

Me personally, I would invest in bilge pump specific hose. Having the bilge hose kink or fail is not an option when you need it to do it's job.
Do you boat is fresh water, saltwater or wine?
Actually it may be fine for applications where the thru hull is not below the water line as most bilge pump thrus are. Other applications may drain below the water line.
Would I use it. NO. I want a product specifically designed for the application.

This is the information I used when replacing my bilge hoses.
Bilge Pump Hoses
Bilge pump hoses typically use corrugated polyethylene with molded cuffs because it is flexible, economical and resists oil, solvents and other waste that collects in the bilge. For better flow you should choose a hose with a smooth bore, abrasion-resistant cover and good anti-kink flexibility. Examples include: Series 148 Multi-Purpose (smooth-walled vinyl helix hose) FDA approved, ideal for critical drain and fill applications, and Shields Multiflex Hose (Series 141). Of the corrugated hoses, the best is Shields VAC Standard (Series 140) and Bilgeflex (Series 120).
