Got a post card yesterday (Thursday 4/2) from Boaters World that they increased the discounts from 10% to 30% up to 20% to 50%. Thats less than 2 weeks after they announced the closing. Now the discounts are getting interesting.

While in the store I heard a rumor that the liguidator plans to close the MD and VA stores in 2 weeks. More discounts next week? Who knows. The employees in the store were only told the night before that the discounts were increasing.

Most of the stuff is still at 20% which is OK. If your need electrical stuff the discounts is at 40%! Local store has got a better inventory now then when it was business as usual. Happy shopping.

I was in one earlier this week. Most things were 10% off, no big bargain but some were 30%. If you use Gulp, it was in the 30% pile.

I will be stopping by my MD store tonight to check it out. Was out there last weekend for the 10 to 30% and picked up a couple small items.

The sad thing is is that BW was actually profitable. It is being sacrificed to salvage Ritz camera. Now you know why your CC statement sometimes said Ritz Camera on it. West is licking their overpriced chops.

I don't know if it's true or not , but the guy @ the online Boater's World said only the brick and mortar stores were closing. He told me the on line operation was not affected and it was business as usual for them. I guess only time will tell. Has anyone heard any different?

The same liquidator took over the Ritz Camera stores today...sales start tomorrow....

Ouch. That's truely terrible news. As a long time former BW employee, I am saddened that the whole Ritz entity is dissolving. David Ritz loved Ritz camera which has been a family business since his grandfather opened his 1st store.

BW

Actually, I have always considered BW as much as a rip off as WM. If you want an eye opener, compare EPIRB prices between BW, WM, & Landfall. Landfall has the other 2 beat by more than $100 on average.
