I'm getting ready to bottom paint my 2009 Grady 228. I'm thinking of using Pettit Hydrocoat. Any thoughts or comments on the product?

I have used Hydrocoat paint for the last 6 years with very good results. West Marine now markets this paint under their new "Earth Freindly" or something lile that for about $10.00 less per gallon. Like all other ablative paints the first coat of bottom paint should be some other color so you can see when it erodes away. I do a 2 coat paint job every 2 years and it works out well for me.

Hyrdacoat

We bought our 265 Express used in 06 and it was painted with above paint in blue.

We wanted black anyways, so two coats covered the "bottom coat"...stuff works great, we do the waterline every year and the entire bottom every other year now...when the blue just starts to show thru.

Ease of clean up a real plus...two thumbs up!
