Are you using the 84” shaft? Do you have to cut the bow rail? Thanks Dan

I have not done this particular install, but MinnKota makes some nice quick-disconnect mounts that may be helpful. You would probably still need a platform to get the motor past the rubrail... I think.

Can it be deployed and retrieved underneath the railing? It might be possible... but I think it's going to be really awkward/hard/"heavy feeling" to do so. Maybe with a tether rope attached down low on the shaft.

I then cut the bow rail
72" shaft Minnkota riptide ultra, quick disconnect mount.

with the Terrova model it's possible, but with the Ulterra it's impossible (full electric).you have to cut the balcony.

im going to cut the rail and add hardware to create a swinging door essentially. got some progress today until it started snowing

Look at all of his pics - it's obvious it a DC. Although for the purposes of the thread, what's behind the mounting area doesn't really matter.

Did you have a question related to doing this on your boat?
Looks like I replied to the wrong post, sorry about that.
I would like to put a trolling motor on my 225. I’ll have to put it on a removable bracket as my cover won’t fit with it on. That, or modify my cover.

That's an easy one. Minn Kota (and I'm sure others) make a couple different styles of quick-disconnect mounts. They work very well.

Looks like the Minn Kota Terrova 112 is what I’m going with (72” shaft). Where did you put the batteries and charger?

I am curious where you put the batteries and charger?
