So I'm going to be building a hardtop for my Seafarer with aluminum piping. I'm trying to get some specs to a buddy that will be bending all of the aluminum for me. I read that grade of the alum. should be 6061. What is the thinckness of the piping? Thanks guys.

6061 will not bend without kinking on most benders. 6063 is what i use on my custom hardtops. just make sure he has the correct tools or 6061 will kink.

I post this to draw your attention to the top. It is made of 1/8 aluminum. This was not cheap or easy. Treasure Island Marina in Panama City, Florida can answer questions. It is not cheap, but looks great, and is strong as heck.
