You guys who have an Adventure 208, what capacity trailer do you have? I am looking at getting a new 4600 lb. trailer and was wondering if that will be enough? Or should I go with a 5400 lb.?

Thanks for your input!

I have the same boat sitting on a 4700lb trailer. If I were you I would go with the 5400lb.

Make sure you have at least a 1 ton diesel 4x4 dualie to tow with....just kidding!

My 208 sat on a 6000 GVW trailer. GVW includes the weight of the trailer, and it weighed around 850lbs, so the capacity of the trailer was somewhere around 5150 lbs.

It was perfect...not so heavy as to be overkill, but provided plenty of reserve for the weight, plus any additional weight from a full tank of fuel, etc...

I have a 5400 lb. LoadRite with disc brakes that has served my 208 Adventure well. I have a hardtop and bow pulpit which ads weight.
And I also have a '99 Ford crew cab 4X4 7.3 Power Stroke 7.3 diesel. I had a DP Tuner and an AEP air filter installed (very easy do it your self job). I have the economy and tow setting on the tuner. I get 20.4 mpg at 62 mph not towing and 14 mpg with the boat on the tow setting. I would gladly share my experience installing each if any one is interested. I also run straight bio-diesel that I buy from a co-op at a competitive price.

I have a 94 208 that came on a galvanized Pacific trailer rated at 6000 lbs. The capacity is listed at 4700 lbs. It came with brakes on one axle and I added them to the second axle. I would highly recommend brakes on both axles. I have had to make 2 panic stops over the years and I am not sure that I would have stopped in time without them.
