Just bought a 2003 330 express and need to replace two of the doors push-locks in the cabin. One is missing completely and the other is missing the internal parts so I can't repair it.

Anyone know where to get these? I'm checking with my dealer as well, but hoping to avoid the extra cost.

Thanks!

Are these the kind that are "flush" when closed and "pop-out" when you press them once? Do you know who the manufacturer of the lock is? Is it Hafele? It might say on the backside.

Exactly, flush until pushed, then they pop out and you turn the knob. I didn't see any sign of the manufacturer on them - but then, didn't look very closely either. Boat is 900 miles away, so hoping someone one here knows - or can look at theirs to identify....

900 miles? Ahhh - that's just a hop, skip and a jump. Although that last jump is a doozy.

This a 'how to' that I wrote for another boating forum when I replaced some of these in my Sundancer. Take a look through and check out the links - there are pictures. The locking mechanism was redesigned a few years back as the old style would commonly fail and not lock (push in flush).

-----------------------

Here is some information regarding replacing those "push/pull knobs" that many of us have in our cabins. Like many, our boat has the gold-toned knobs and we thought it was high time we changed them to a brushed nickel color to better match the rest of the updates we've been doing. Below, the first section is from Hafele (manufacturer), the second section is from the local supplier near me where I ordered it and the third section is what I actually ordered (for 1/2" doors and two tambour doors). Be sure to check the thickness of your doors and compare it to the catalog pages. The last section is simply conveying some of the process I went through to replace them. Overall, very easy - you may or may not run into a little glitch like I did. I'm sure there's other sources for these pieces, but I like that I was able to get these from a local supplier/businessman (granted, he may not be not local to you). As a nice bonus, the pricing was fantastic - better than I've seen ANYWHERE else, to date. As of when I wrote this, I paid under $30 - including tax and shipping to my door.

Dennis,

Below are the catalog pages with what we offer for push-button locks:

I hope this helps and if it does and you would like to order some,
please let me know your zip code and I'll be glad to refer you to a
local Hafele dealer in your area that you can order from.

#229.01.677 Knob, plastic, nickel
#229.03.608 Rosette, plastic, nickel (1/2" door)
#229.03.626 Rosette, plastic, nickel (for tambour doors)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I knocked the old rosettes out from the backside with a screwdriver (against the rim of the rosette) and a few knocks with a hammer. As I installed the first of the new rosettes I noticed it was going in very tight and actually caused the knob to bind against the inside of the rosette. Upon closer inspection, I found the holes in the door were just a tad small and not perfectly round which was causing the rosette to deform very slightly as I pushed it into the hole. I noticed that Sea Ray had alleviated the problem by shaving the inside of the old rosette. I opted to just use a 1/4" drill bit (mounted in a drill with the drill on high) and sort of "shave" the inside of the door's hole (in the areas that appeared out-of-round) until the rosette fit snug, but not tight. Took about 15 minutes to do all 5 doors - no big deal. But, maybe you won't have that problem.

Update for anyone looking for the same latch.

Pulled one of the broken latches and found it is made by SouthCo - http://www.southco.com/en-us/. Pretty sure the model number is M1-2A-13-1, which I found on ebay for $15.
