I have spent most of my time inland on bass boats and such, but I am slowly trying to squeeze myself into offshore fishing and boating. Ive been reading about grady white boats and they seem to be one of the better boats you can buy. Can anyone give me an opinion of this boat and maybe tell me a bit about it? All im looking for is a boat for me and a few buddies to go a few miles offshore to fish. I would also like a small cabin for the family to duck out of the weather if need be while we're out.

Thanks in advance!

800+ hours, (on the one motor) is high... not extremely high, but a lot. If what the seller says about the compression being equal is true, fine... but definitely have a 3rd party mechanic go over it, (both motors).

Get a survey.

If the motors and the boat check out... that's an extremely good deal... kind of "too good to be true"... IMO.

As far as the model itself, (Marlin)... I think it's a great offshore boat.

I agree to get a licensed surveyor to thoroughly check out this boat. That being said, if boat checks out good with surveyor, I would say that this is an extremely good price for this boat. Those outboards are usually good for at least 1500-2000 hours of use each, if properly maintained. Good luck, Mike.

In general...really, really figure what you are going to use the boat for. The cabin is nice, if your family will use it. You may not want your fishng buddies dirtying it up, so with them it will be wasted fishing space. Again, will your family go??? Or will it be a fishing machine? That is a huge question.

Most importanly though, add 2-4' to whatever you are thinking will do

Gradys have earned their reputation for quality. No cutting corners, and you will pay for it too.
