any one have anything to say about getting more then one season out of interlux micron ablative paint . this is my second season after a full strip down and build up of the bottom coat and the hull was covered with stuff what is the deal.

I found that in the warm FL waters around 18 months was the correct interval for a touch up.

Years ago, the good stuff was Micron 33. I could get 3 years out of it, except for the waterline. I just tried Interlux Trinadad SR. Hope it works well.

I always have. One trick. Do your first coat in a different color and when you see it bleeding through its time to recoat.

On my Pacemaker I have a yellowish tinted barrier coat and black bottom paint. I've found that even the cheapest West Marine ablative lasts more then one season

Did te new paint peel off in the areas referred to?

Whatdo you mean by buildup?

Expect the peach fuzz. It should wipe right off with your hand.

You should get at least 2 yrs. I stripped the bottom of hard paint in 04. Have never put the reccomended amount of coats on it since. 2 in 04 and 1 coat every 2 years. Haven't had a problem yet. Lower Ches. Bay region.
