So we upgraded over the winter from a 24 Seahunt Gamefish (single 250 yamaha) to a 2019 Canyon 271 outfitted with twin 300 yamahas.
I've made two trips to the gulf stream (60 + mile run) this spring, one other 30 mile run and a couple of nearshore trips. I knew this would be a big upgrade but man...I do love this boat!
Last trip ran out and back in realllllly nice seas at 35-38 mph. Only drawback was 110 gallons of fuel burned for just two of us fishing hurt at the gas pump.
Haven't run in anything really rough yet but the typical 2-3 ft chop this thing plows through really nice. Super stable while drifting. Fit and finish is top notch. Great waterway cruising boat of course (inlaws and wife like that). I'm still figuring exactly how much trim I need in certain seas but overall doesn't seem to need much adjustment with the tabs to run well. Livewells work fantastic, the fish box in the back is a great feature (helps keep the boat cleaner not having to run fish to the front fish boxes).
Top speed I've seen is 54 mph with a full load. Plenty fast enough and I don't run that except to show off. Damn fuel is too expensive.
Overall, no real complaints at all. Will reserve full judgement until I get caught in some rougher than expected seas, but so far, this rig gets my highest recommendation.
