Hi I boat up in Massachusetts and RI. I primarily fish offshore and inshore. I have a slip and use my boat at least once a week. I have a couple of potential additional adds to my 306 Canyon and wanted some experiences and opinions. The items I am considering are:

1. Spray wings- I have had them in the past and never used them. I was once told just wear the right rain wear. I am thinking maybe I should get them this time and actually use them on longer distance tuna fish, leaning heavy towards saving the money and not get them until an experience makes me want to get them.
2. Canvas covers for the helm, aft seat, the adjustable bow back rests and the back pad fixed to center console. The pricing for this at the dealer was pretty high. it seemed almost as much as replacing the pads. I wash the boat after every use and enjoy taking care of it. My thought to either not too have any, for at least a year and maybe find a cheaper alternative. Do most of you in the northeast have canvas covers on your boats on slips?
3.Search light. Given the size of the bow, I was going to pass on a spot light. I would think the glare from the bow would offset any value of the light.

Any thoughts or opinion would be appreciated.

I have a 306. I would get the spray wings unless you want to do a full three-sided enclosure. They are great for this time of year. I had a helm cover made as well as a full cover for the helm chairs and box. Wasn’t too expensive from a local canvas guy. I don’t worry about the forwards backrests or rear seat. Don’t go through your dealer. Just have a local canvas shop measure it up. It’;; be a lot cheaper. The factory wings are good though.

1. Spray wings are a game changer, if you use them. I am a fair weather boater, so I don't use them. I am an idiot; I should use them. I have the wings and you are welcome to come see them and make a pattern, if you like. I have a SailRite sewing machine and we could take a shot at making them. See pics.
2. I have a cover just for the helm seats. You are welcome to make a pattern. We could make it, as well. I made a bow cover that stretches from the bow cleats to the mid-ship cleats to protect the front bolsters, back rests and seats. It only uses two snaps (I used self-adhesive snaps, so no drilling required.) See pic below.
3. I have spotlight. I would recommend getting one. The spill on the bow isn't too bad. You can see it in the pic in my signature.

BTW that bow cover was pretty clever!
