When I first got my 265, I would use care lowering the fold down transom. It seemed like if something were to happen to the hydraulic shock that it could guillitene your foot off. Tow weeks ago I was in a hurry and pulled the fold down out of it's detents to lower without putting my leg next to it as I typically do. The nut had backed off of the bolt holding it into the clevis and whamo. Crushed my foot. I thought I'd pass that along. As soon as I can get around better, I will be going over every nut, screw, and bolt to be certain they are secure. cscott

Also there are adjusting screws located on the connecting latches, a couple of turns will tighten the splash guard door so it won't pop open if you hit a wave.
