anyone have any experience with this product? I have read some interesting articles......might be the cheap and simple solution for us "smaller" boaters.

If your fishing a few miles off the beach its sure worth a try - it can't be that expensive. Offshore - forget it!

Offshore Cell Service

I typically run trips out to the Middle Grounds in the Gulf of Mexico approximately 70 miles offshore. In the past have tried various products and they just don't work. If you are serious about needing communications offshore my suggestion to you is satellite phone. Two services available Iridium / Globalstar. I use Globalstar it's less expensive but sometimes it takes a few minutes to get a call through. Hope this helps you can find great deals on Ebay for the phones.
