My 83 gulfstream has sat on a trailer for two years while I was away. It's all sorted except the tank is cruddy. Should I drain and clean or just replace? How much is replacing - a tough job?

ThanksJ

If the tank is original, pull it to check it for corrosion.

if its that old, you're gonna need to change all the fuel lines and fill lines anyway....a new tank in the 50-75 gallon range will cost between 500-700 bucks...its not that hard, especially if you have a friend to help....just take your time, mark everything, take pictures and be super careful with gas fumes, spills and sparks/static etc. If there's a lot of crud on the outside, powerwash it...you'll be surprised of the pitting you can find under the loose sticky stuff...it may even be small pin holes and at that point, its over.
