The inside of some of the white zippers on our Grady (the teeth as well as the fabric tape on each side of the teeth) in the helm area is developing mildew spots. I am hesitant to use a bleach product for fear I will not be able to rinse it off thoroughly enough.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

I used a product called ZEP mildew remover. I bought it from Home Depot. I cleaned the zippers on my Blue Canvas and they came out like new. I sprayed it on and let it sit a few minutes. Then i used a toothbrush on it. I then hosed it off. The mildew was gone and the color did not run.

Total time 10 minutes. This stuff works on everything. :D

Try spraying on straight white vinegar, let it set for a few hours in the sun, then rinse off with fresh water.
Works great on most fabrics and will not discolor them.
