Our Old '79 ON needed new power. The 1986 140 Johnson ran ok but the main pinion was so corroded I couldn't steer it anymore and since we have a slip in a tidal river, steering is critical. Transom is strong and she still rides well. So I spoke c/ GW Factory about it and they approved.

I repowered with a 150 Suzuki 4 Stroke (c/ a 6 yr warranty). At the same time I put in alll new gauges, controls rewired everything (lots of corrosion after 29 years) and refastened the bow rail with new stanchions and bases. (The rail itself was fine) I installed a new radio and antenna in the mix too. All this ran about $15K.

Plan on getting anither 30 years outaa the old girl!

Why I'm so happy I may give her a new paint job next year and complete the restoration....course that would mean worrying about bumping the dock again.....hmmm, forget the paint.
