I bought a new 2025 Freedom 285. After a boat wash down I noticed that the passenger side cup holder (the one the right-photo) does not drain overboard like the other cup holders.
I don’t know how to fix this. I did notice within the cup holder there is a small nut/screw (red circle in photo)- can this help solve my problem? Thanks!

Cupholders don't usually drain oveboard - they drain into the bilge.

I assume you mispoke and actually simply mean "it doesn't drain at all"... not "it drains, but not overboard" - they way you worded it makes it sound like the latter.

So... assuming you just mean "it doesn't drain"...

-- Is there a plug (or debris) in the hole?
-- Is the line clear that connects to drain barb to the drain point? Check it out just like you would with any pipe/hose that is clogged - don't overthink it - this one is as basic as basic plumbing gets.

"Nut/screw"... are you sure that isn't an LED light?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I should have simply written “not emptying”.

I guess my issue will be what to use to “unplug” the narrow drain at the bottom of cup without creating damage.

I just got to say what others are thinking: I'm always willing to help but if you can't figure out how to get water out of a cup holder maybe consider a different hobby.

All my cupholders drain on the cockpit floor, not in the bilge, not overboard.
If one is not draining then i would back flush it to expel the stuff inside the hose clogging it, mine collect some black flakes and low pressure back flush with water wash them out.
Don't use too much pressure to avoid to bew the hose off a hypothetic tee piece, start with low pressure as that is usually enough.
Not sure for what the screw is, first guess is that she holds the cupholder in place, my cupholders are glued in place using a sealant.
You need to figure out where the plastic drain hose attached to the cup holder goes and for that you may need to pull the cupholder.
I can access all of mine from below thru either a vertical pie plate, the anchor locker door or transom bilge access door of from inside the console.
