I have posted before on my experience with cushions. Anyway, here is my latest sewing repair on the backrest cushions on my 2013 226 Seafarer. I think I noted before, the marina where my boat is had ‘their cushion guy’ quote $510 for one side, and graciously $510 for the other side which had not yet come apart. My repair cost $8 for a 5000 mile length of the appropriate thread and a few hours time. I’ll add some pics that maybe will help someone in future in removing these cushions. Two big hooks and 2 sheet metal screws into the stern accessible through what appear to be drain grommet holes. Lousy design.IMG_0767.jpegIMG_0766.jpeg

Looks good... I always do things myself and have a professional do it if I fail or if the job is too difficult.

I pretty much do the same. These days, seems it gets harder and harder to even get a response to a request, or no follow up. Anyway, in the FWIW dept…..these cushions were grimy with mildew. I used A product called Marine 31 which took a bit of scrubbing but worked pretty good. Smelled like chlorine bleach. And I have been using 303 vinyl protectant. That stuff almost feels like it softens the vinyl just enough to make it feel new and lasts pretty good
