I've been using these cutting mats instead of the bulkey cutting board. Package of two for $4 at Bed, Bath, Beyond. Strong enough to be left in place running in and out.

The mat has a hole in it already. Remove the pull on the port storage compartment, put it back through the mat and your done.

Good idea!

I've tried something like it from another source , unfortunately, cut right through it.

I was using a different material before - not clear, white, a little harder. Never had a problem cutting through. Unfortunatly the sun dried the material out, it got brittle and the wind tore it off.

I'll have to see if this new material works out as well.

I made one out of starboard a few years ago(2001) and take it from boat to boat. I have a piece of 1/8" plexiglass on top to cut on it, so i don't ruin the starboard.

Great pics and great design! How do you mount it to the boat?

I was thinking about copying your design and using those sea suckers so it would be portable. Thoughts?
