I have one corner of my deck plate that you take off to service the generator on my 2002 33 express where the screw seems to be pulling through. I'm thinkin rotten balsa wood. I have replaced the well nuts and tried a two part epoxy thinking it might hold but it did not.

Anyone have a fix short of putting a washer on top of it. I hate to do that because I know my toe would find it sooner or later.

It's probably plywood

I have an older Marlin but I believe that area would still be a fibreglass-plywood-fibreglass sandwhich. Pull up the deck plate and inspect the area. If it's not all rotten drill the hole out oversize and fill with epoxy. After it's dry re-drill a pilot hole and put your deck plate back on.
