I have tried to unravel the mystery of tv/digital/converter box/antennae and think I have it, but want the fountain of knowledge to confirm. I have a 2005 Marlin. It contains a 15 Sharp Auqos TV, which first came on the market in late 2002. It clearly preceeds the 2007 Fed disclosure date and requirement that all post 2007 TV's be manufactured as digita ready. I have scoured the operation manual and see no mention of digital, DTV, ATSC or HDTV. So my first conclusion is that I do not have a digital ready or digital operational TV. Second, this would mean that I would need a digital converter to make this non digital TV accepting of over the air digital TV transmissions. Third, if I am right so far, which makes more sense, getting a digital converter box and an hd antennae, or swapping out the tv. If the option is swapping out the tv, any recommendations on a 15 inch replacement? Thanks.

You will need a converter box. If your current set receives UHF channels decently, ( 14 and up), you antenna stands a chance of working with the converter

Are the tv stations doing digital now, I try my tv on the boat ant it worked. Was just wondering if they did the switch?

I thought Obama delayed it.

Manny stations have been transmitting digital signals for a while. The delayed date is for the termination of the analog signals

A lot of stations chose to stick with the original changeover date anyway. Most all San Diego and Los Angeles stations have been digital only since Feb 17.
