2008 with twin f250's ....Drive by wire controls ... any feed back on this set up ... good ??? bad ???? anything ????

Which hull? Which brand of motors / controls?

I LOVE my Yamaha DEC fly-by-wire controls. Would never go back to mechanical...

Advantages are: automatic sync, precise shifting with zero play, super easy to set exactly the throttle you want with no slippage.

....and PRECISE trolling speed control, whether its at 1950 RPM for Bluefin Tuna trolling, or 600 RPM for Stripers.

With the drive by wire, how precise is it? I am looking at an F250 Yamaha. I am putting on a seafarer 226 (1983 model) and am curious how slow I could go and how fine I could tune the speed?

Also, any cons to the setup? Other than the cost increase?

I have the Yamaha digital controls. It is a great system. The precise throttle controls are very nice. I trolled with it for mahi and there was zero RPM drift as I like to call it. It is smooth shifting and control.

If you get Yamaha Command Link Plus it also has a trolling mode for very precise RPM control. But I actually never use it because I find the regular controls are precise enough. There's no drift at all.
