Is there any requirement on how long an ECOS lanyard can be? I doubled mine in order to move around the boat a little. I always seem to forget that I have it attached when I'm docking or slowing down to troll. Killing the engine at a most inopportune time. Causing unneeded problems and possible damage to my boat.

No requirement. The only downside to a long lanyard is the possibility of tripping over it.

Have a "Fell" ordered. In terms of a lanyard. Something similar to the retractable dog leads may work. No slack, as long as the spring tension doesn't pull the clip on the kill switch.
