Hello All,
The eisenglass/canvas on my 2004 Seafarer 226 is ready to be replaced. I've read elsewhere that some shops have the template so they can make it for me and I can install myself because all the existing snaps will line up. Any truth to this? Otherwise what is the best route to replace it? Boat is docked in Greenport, NY. Also, should I go for strataglass instead?
Thank you all.
Paul

I used A&J Canvas in NC. They do have templates since they do the OEM for Grady. I had them do mine and strataglas is definitely worth the extra cost. They provide snaps and lift the dot fasteners so that you can self install and make the existing hardware on the boat line up perfectly. I have no connection but they are highly recommended. Search the forum for details.

I also recommend A&J Canvas out of Vanceboro NC. They did mine for my '04 228 and I went with Strataglass also. As mentioned, snaps are shipped loose so you can customize to your existing location. Good people to work with.

Do you mind ballparking the price? I've got a 2000 228 and my eisenglass may have had it--was going to use existing full curtains as templates at local marine upholsterer but I'd love a Grady company to do it if its anywhere close to the same price
Thanks

I seem to remember that a full set for my 330 was $1200 or so a few years back. Call Lee at A&J and she will be able to give you a price. They have several choices for materials as well.

A&J is the way to go. Roll yours up and ship it to them for templates. I did a Marlin with Strataglass and ivory stamoid for $2800 shipped. It was a 9 piece enclosure.
