I was looking for some information on my Seafarer's Bus Bar, particularly the amperage rating. It only has 9 fuse connections and I'm looking for a replacement that has 12, but I'm not sure about the amp rating. I found one with a rating of 20, but I'm not sure it that is sufficient. Thanks for any help.

You'll need to add up all the needs for the devices which connect to it, and ensure the bar is sized accordingly. This may require new wiring from the battery to the bar as well. The electronics needs in 2026 are far higher for most of us than they would have been in 1992.

I've been happy with products from Blue Seas for this sort of application.

Assuming that all circuits on your fuse block are accessory loads, you don't need to carry more than approximately 80 % of the accessory breaker/ fuse that should be located close to the house battery. You also need to know that the rating for the new fuse block may refer to individual loads. That is to say that branch loads are rated for 20 amps max. That's not to infer that you could handle 9 times 20 through the block but it could carry more than just 20 amps

absolutely ditch the glass fuses.

get this.... but you'll have to replace all wire ends with ring terminals.

Its getting increasingly hard to find the old style with the 1/4" spade terminals but they are out there
It simplifies your project a little.
