Has anyone put a engine bracket on a 330 express

im going to guess the answer is no. why are you trying to do this?

I was just curious I have a rotten transom and was wondering if a bracket and upgrade to 400s or 425s would work or be beneficial

This is sounding like an AI exercise...too many of them lately. Prove me wrong.

You are planning on having the transom rebuilt aren't you? Single engine or twins? You have a speed/peformance issue driving this upgrade? What is the goal?

What year is the boat? Euro transom or full transom? Put some photos up. Where are you located? Help us help you!

the most basic answer I can think of is a bracket will make the boat perform differently than they designed it. This particular boat/hull is well dialed in and I would not mess with it. My gut says beefing up the existing transom during the repair will be both cheaper and easier if you have your heart set on higher HP or heavier engines.

What year is your boat? up to '04, max hp as per factory is 500hp. 04 up till 08/09-ish, it's 600hp. While I don't think it's inherently unsafe to go with larger than factory spec'd engines provided you beef up the transom.... other issues come up.

-1st is if the Marina is paying attention and is even minimally reputable, they won't expose themselves to that kind of liability.

-2nd is you could run into insurance trouble. If they know you are exceeding the max factory rated hp, I doubt they'd insure you (provided you tell them I guess) Also, if you get into any kind of accident and they find out you got cute, will they pay a claim?
