Engine temp and oil pressure

I'd like to be able to see the engine temperatures and oil pressure on my 2003 Yamaha 225 four strokes. Apparently Yamaha addressed this in 2005 with an upgrade to the wiring loom so you could connect the engines to an NMEA 2000 circuit. My Yamaha gauges just have a high temp alarm; other than buying new engines, anyone know of a way?

As I recall, Yamaha engines prior to 2006 are not compatible with NMEA 2000. The ECU doesn't provide the output.

This is correct. I wouldn't worry about not being able to get the info. You'd have to devote valuable display real estate to view.
