Engine tilt gauge

I have a 2009 250 Yamaha and my tilt engine gauge is just blinking and not moving when the engine is being moved up and down. I've checked the lever down at the engine and that's moving fine. If it needs replacing how hard is it.

Shoot a little WD40 into the cam sender and move it back and forth. If it moves check the cam clamp that pushes against the sending unit.

I don't think the sender is stuck. I might be wrong but I think that a flashing indication means the display has NO signal. The sender could be bad, the sender connector could be corroded or disconnected, you could have a bad wire or there could be a problwm with the connector at the display
