2005 Escape 209. I'll assume this area is for storage unless I'm missing something. And ... mine has male snap ends on the underside of the lid.

Shouldn't there be something else here to work with the female catch that mates with it on the console? So that it will snap shut and not rattle around when moving?

I'm going over the inside and outside of this boat to understand it better and this just doesn't seem right. Unless something is supposed to snap on the underside of this lid.

Its not that important, but I thought I'd ask. I'll have plenty more stupid questions in the near future. Thanks all!

My guys would be it is for a snap to hold the door up. My265 has snaps on straps that do that.

Thanks Sea Shift. That makes sense ... They probably have a bunch of lids laying around and use them interchangeably to get the boats moving out of the factory. Makes a lot of sense.
