I recently repowered my GW 23 Gulfstream. It's the model with the notched transom. I figure with full load I am looking at 6500-7000 lbs. I repowered with a 2011 250 DPX. The dealer put on a 14 3/4 x 19 Viper. The boat is running great and fuel usage is great. But WOT is 5300 rpm, 36 mph. We keep planning on hooking up to prop test more but due to his and my schedules it always get canceled.

I was told the Rebel prop would be better, I wanna just go by and pick one up for testing, any idea on size or pitch?

I don't know what the recommended WOT RPM range is but it's clear that you are over-propped. Rule of thumb is 200 RPM per inch of pitch. Going all the way down to 14 3/4 x 15 would only get your RPM up to the 5700 range. Recommend you first find out the WOT RPM range for your motor then select the pitch. You might be better off increasing the diameter and dropping the pitch more.
