If you don't see fibers exposed, the repair is easier than if you do see fibers. It is also easier if the area is bottom painted. If the fibers are not exposed, you can but a color matched putty kit from Grady or from Spectrum Colors. The newer the boat, the better the chance that the color will be close.
If the fibers are exposed, the repair is more complicated, and will require sanding or grinding out the area and then filling back in with epoxy and finally gel coat if the area wasn't painted.
