I was poking around this board last year trying to lean what I could about the Gulfstream 232. At that time I was trying to buy a 2010. Original Thread: New member seeking Gulfstream knowledge/advice
I made an offer that was accepted but the owner and I could not get through the details on paper and ultimately the deal fell through. After the experience I stopped actively looking but I did continue to monitor the 4 or 5 other Gulfstream 232's (2005 up to 2016) I looked at in person last year. The nicest/newest one (2016) was out of my target price range but over the winter the owner dropped the asking price 10k, & this spring dropped it another 10k. I offered him 15k below his current asking price and he accepted. I took it for a Sea trial then purchased it and took it back to my home port this past Tuesday.
The Point Judith RI to Marshfield MA trip was bout 90 miles. RI and Buzzard bay were relatively calm, the Cape Cod canal was beautiful & was timed the current perfectly. Leaving the canal into Cape Cod Bay was another story. It was pretty shitty, north wind in the face with short duration 3-5 footers that eventually subsided to a steady 3ft @ 4 seconds. We had 23 miles of this slop to get to home port and the boat performed flawlessly.
I already know I'm going to love this boat!
