First ever trip on my 2004 180.

Excellent way to christen her in!! Congrats on the catch!! Makes you feel good knowing the new boat will raise fish.

Sometime this summer we are looking to take a trip over to S. Norwalk. Any local knowledge on transient docking or other pertinent information would certainly help.
 
You can try Norwalk Cove Marina, they are the largest one and have transient docking but quite a walk to S. Norwalk.

Closer to the S. Norwalk center you can try Rex Marine. The S Norwalk "Sono" area has all the shops and restaurants.

That coastline in the Port Jeff area and east is something I want to explore and fish now that I can travel that far. Plan to spend to time at spooky old lighthouse too (Stratford)....

Anything East of PJ would be a decent trip for you and you have to pick your days, especially if the wind is coming out of the East. Port Jeff is great, after that you have Mt. Sinai and then it's kinda dead for a long distance.
 
Too much sand, no structure? I would think fluking would be good.
