1st weekend putting the Grady back in this season. Did quite a bit of work. List of the stuff replaced/updated:
Thru hulls (SS now)
Scupper Covers
Drain tubes (epoxied schedule 40 pipe in)
Sealed the aluminum transom bracket with West System Six Epoxy
West Marine Stereo Head Unit (had to mount it where I did, because the previous owner butchered the hole)
Shakespeare 8ft AM/FM antenna to match the VHF
4 new Marine Kenwood Speakers (Drilled two holes in the bow)
Boss Marine 4 channel amp
Braided sleeving for the outboard cables
Compound and Polish/wax with a Porter Cable 7424xp Polisher.
6 SS cupholders lined with white Seadek
White seadek on random places
Removable Marine igloo cooler mounted at the stern
New fuel lines, filter, filler hose, vent hose
Ripped the gas tank out, it was corroded on the bottom, getting a new one made. Just ran a separate line for now to a 5 gallon tank
(goes through it really quick lol)
Sanded and redid the teak with Sikkens

Re: First weekend on the water and some upgrades

Thanks for the photos!
Grady looks good and those old Yamaha circa-1990's Precision Blends are legendary..Best OB's ever, I think.

Hmm....All those parts in your office pic DID go back onto the boat! Hope your gas tank re-install goes smooth and a great season is ahead.

Thanks, yea apart from being a pig on fuel, it runs very well. It is turn key always starts the first crank and idles nicely. Had it at 40mph on gps with a very light fuel load and just myself in it. I ended up ordering a tank through rds aluminum but went with a 30 gal as I just don't need the capacity of the original 60 gal.

Re: First weekend on the water and some upgrades

Boat sure looks great. Gotta get mine done. Hard to get to it with the young baby and wife working every other weekend, but seeing yours sure gets me motivated.
Do you have a 25" shaft motor?
Do you know what type of helm you have?
Thanks

It was a lot of work but a good project. Ended up taking a week off and just focusing the days on getting it done, tough to make time. Yes the motor has 25" shaft and has the 20" transom.
There is a picture of the helm in this post? Not sure what else you mean? I know they changed the design of them over the years.

I wanted to change the one that is on my boat. I have a no feedback teleflex helm from my Striper and it looks a lot different than the one that's on my boat. I'm not sure if its going to fit in my boat.

Sorry if I missed it but where are you located? It looks beautiful! :wow

Thanks. The cottage is located in Haliburton which is roughly 2.5 hours north of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.

Looks great. My first GW had lots of teak and I used to use the Siekens on it too - it looks better than oil and last a couple of seasons with some minor touch ups . Like the cooler idea too
