I have a 222 fisherman with a 225 yam 4s

I got a marine stereo for my birthday which just recently passed and i'm not sure if i want to put it in. I'm a little worried about how quickly it would drain the batteries.

The other thing i was thinking about was returning the stereo and getting a fuel management system instead.

Any ideas? What would you do?

Also, can anyone suggest a quality fuel management system

Thanks

Flo scan are the best but pricey. What year is your motor? Maybe you can get the Yamaha managment gauges used of e-bay or something. Northstar also makes one in the 150 buck range, i had one with a smaller 140 hp motor and it worked good, but i don't know what the flow numbers are on that unit.

Fuel Management

The Garmin 4000 and 5000 series chartplotters have a NMEA 2000 interface that can connect to the Yamaha 4 strokes. It will provide engine information including fuel burn info using data supplied by the engine.

Check out my previous post.

Not sure if your in the market for a chartplotter but the engine info and fuel management are $100 or so add on.

the boat and motor are both 2003, i have a northstar 952 chartplotter.
I don't really need a new chartplotter plus i'm not sure if this would work with the 2003 4 strokes.
