I have a 2004 257 and only 2 of the 6 horizontal rod holders will accommodate a 9-foot fly rod. I am considering mounting vertical fly rod holders on the port side of the console (I don't have a t-top). Has anyone else mounted fly rod holders on their Grady? If so, I'd appreciate hearing how you did it (and would love to see any pictures). Thanks.

Do you have a full transom? You could put a 4 or 6 rocket launcher across the back and people won't try to grab a rod instead of a rail in heavy seas. (Look @ a Seafarer 228G set-up). I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Thanks for the thought....but if there are fly rods on the transom, you can't cast from the stern of the boat. Rods need to be under gunwales, on console or attached to bench-seat rocket launcher (at an angle that doesn't interfere with casting from the stern).
