I'm considering a new, 2017, 225 but it's powered by a 200. Does anyone have any experience with a 225 powered by a 200, I'm concerned that it will be underpowered.

I have a 2007 Tournament 225 with an F225. I wish it had a 250. Many of the later Freedom 225's came with an F300. I think 200 is underpowered.

I thought they discontinued the 225 and replaced it with the 235. If spec'ing out a new boat, I would opt for the max. HP Grady offers. Grady published specs the 225 w/F200 @6100 WOT /45.1 MPH. Plenty fast for me. The F250 4.2 would run @6000 WOT / 50.5 MPH. If you have a choice, IMHO, the F250 is a better choice. V-6 vs. inline 4.
Ah...just re-read the OP. It appears the boat is a leftover with the F200 on it. As mentioned above, GW has it at 45 MPH at WOT. Thats fine but how long to get it out of the water onto plane with a load my be a concern.

The factory usually knows what to hang on the transom for best performance. Why not give GW Cust Service a call and get their input?
