Freedom 285
Just bought a new to me Grady White Freedom 285 (2013). How in the world do you gain access to the aft bilge. The two hatches are blocked by the aft seat and even if I could get the hatches open, I would be on my belly reaching below the seat to gain access. There must be an easier way? Thanks.

I am not sure how the 285 is laid out but my 255 has a drop down hinged hatch behind/under the aft seat. To gain access I pull the seat slide tubes out of the slide opening and swing it up and rest it on top of the transom. Even with the seat out of the way access is awkward. To reach deep inside, I have to lie on my belly to get my arms in there.

That seat will lift up and rest on the stern cooler/fish box that way you don't have to lay on your belly to get under the seat.
