209, new to me.
Has a fresh water fill system, 10 gallon capacity.
I can find the fill site; as I try to fill it, seems I get nowhere.
Is there a drain site that needs to be plugged for this, that I am missing?
Thx guys, and pity my ignornance.

The fill is on the port side of the motor well. Assuming you have the fresh water option, there is a hose from the tank that runs to the pump usually located in the port rear locker (oil tank location).
If you fill the tank, the filler should eventually overflow. If you put in water and keep adding water but it doesn't overflow, there has to be a leak. Thw water will run into the bilge. There is a panel to access the tank but it is caulked and is a pain to remove.
If the boat was stored with a full tank ,had no antifreeze, and was stored in a winter climate, the tank may have split from freezing or popped a fitting/hose/

So, does the water overflow? Does water run into the bilge?

oddly, water neither overflows nor does water hit the bilge.
Maybe I quit adding water too early?

Perhaps so...
After you fill it and then find out that the pump stopped working or startss to sputter, post again and we will tell you what to do next.

follow up:
kept at my filling station, and low and behold, finally filled; I just greatly underestimated what 10 gallons look like from my hose. Poor judgement on my part, yet again.
Thanks for help in sorting this out.

My 2004 209 is my second boat. It doesn't have the fresh water tank but I wish it did. Glad you figured yours out.
I just took mine out for the first time this past weekend.
It is truely an awesome boat! We had a Smooth & Dry day. Enjoy yours...
